Dr Byron Oram is a highly experienced clinician of more than 20 years who is passionate about improving the patient journey and delivering excellence in radiology for both patients and referrers. 

Byron has a special interest in radiology-guided procedures for pain relief and is one of the few New Zealand radiologists providing image-guided radiofrequency and chemical ablation for nerve pain. 

Byron spent five years in the role of Managing Partner at Pacific Radiology Australia before returning to Canterbury.

Dr Josie Parker has enjoyed a successful career spanning more than 30 years. She is an expert in all aspects of Ultrasound-guided Interventional and Diagnostic radiology and is passionate about further developing her expertise.

Before moving to New Zealand, Dr Kaveshini Pillay spent several years at a level 1 Trauma Academic Hospital where she played an integral role in the training and supervision of radiology registrars.

Dr Monica Saini completed her medical and radiology training in the U.S., including a fellowship in women’s imaging from the University of Washington. With over 15 years of patient care experience across the US and New Zealand, we are delighted that when Monica closed The Breast Institute, she chose to join us as Radiologist Lead, Breast Imaging, for the Wellington region.

In previous roles at GE Healthcare and Volpara Health Technologies (Chief Medical Officer / Board Director 2018-2021) Monica’s work included early detection of breast cancer, supporting breast cancer research, and international physician education for breast imaging technologies. Her TEDx Wellington talk in 2019 “Breast Density: A Personal Biomarker Of Cancer” continued her advocacy for breast cancer awareness and education.

Dr Carl Samuelsson is an experienced diagnostic and interventional radiologist. After graduating from Linköping University, Sweden, he completed his radiology training in Stockholm and subsequently undertook at Fellowship in Interventional and Vascular Radiology. A PhD student at Karolinska Institutet, one of the world's leading medical universities, Carl is conducting research on screening for osteoporosis using Digital X-ray Radiogrammetry (DXR). We are delighted to have Carl at Pacific Radiology Canterbury, where he works for both PRG and Heart Vision alongside his role as an Interventional Radiology Consultant at Christchurch Hospital.

Dr Jeremy Sharr's accomplished career has spanned over 20 years. Prior to joining Pacific Radiology , Jeremy spent five years gaining further training and experience in Melbourne. In addition to his role at Pacific Radiology, Jeremy also holds radiologist positions at both St George's and Southern Cross Hospitals where he provides specialist services in the management of musculoskeletal and abdominal diseases.

Jeremy is passionate about improving our services and ensuring that our patients have access to the best medical imaging available. He is committed to ensuring that Pacific Radiology uses state of the art equipment and recruits and trains the top radiologists in New Zealand.

Dr Cameron Simmers is passionate about inspiring the doctors of tomorrow. He is highly involved with Otago University, regularly presenting to members of the Otago University Medical Students Association.

Prior to his medical training, Cameron completed a Masters of Science in Microbiology. He has a special interest in Body CT and specialist MRI Imaging.

Dr Gemma Sutherland has more than 10 years' radiology experience and is passionate about women’s health.

Dr Lisa Sweetman joined the Pacific Radiology team after a 15 year career as a  general radiologist with a sub-specialty interest in Head and Neck Imaging at Wellington Hospital. 

Lisa has been heavily involved with medical education and training registrars at RANZCR, including Branch Education Officer. She is a current RANZCR examiner.
